Volodymyr Lytvyn resigned from his post of the Chairman of the Parliament

On July, 4 at the plenary session the Chairman of the Parliament Volodymyr Lytvyn stated that before then he had been invited for a meeting with the President of Ukraine, which started at 2.30 p.m. (the evening plenary session, where the whole law draft on the Principles of language policy was adopted, started at 4 p.m. - Ed.).

– These events were finished at around 8 p.m., and at the same time, as one of the deputies of Ukraine said about voting, “we played hanky-panky with them like with a kitten”. First of all, they “played hanky-panky” with me. But, generally speaking, they “played hanky-panky” with Ukraine and the people. And I think we will reap the benefits of this “hanky-panky play”. Under such circumstances, please, accept my resignation from the post of the Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada, - Volodymyr Lytvyn marked.
