We have the most talents and…the most drain of the “chess brain”

This year the 20th of July was marked for the first time as the Day of chess in Ukraine. The relevant Decree "On Declaration of the Chess Day in Ukraine" was adopted by the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine last year on November, 1. The launch of such holiday is both a kind of public recognition of outstanding achievements of the local chess players, and a resonance event which has to draw attention of the state authority bodies and public towards the chess game as a highly intellectual and the most massive kind of sport.
Because of this holiday we hope to revive the former prestige and popularity of this wise game within the nation, especially among young people.
