Winners are more Impoverished than Losers

On Junes, 3 parliamentary hearings “About public, medical and pension welfare of veterans of the war and commemoration of the 65-th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War 1941–1945” chaired by Volodymyr Lytvyn took place in the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine.

Minister of Labour and Social Policy of Ukraine Lyudmyla DENISOVA reported about provision of social protection for veterans of the Great Patriotic War. With figures she showed to the folk deputies and representatives of veteran movement that the state takes care properly about the liberators of Ukraine from fascism. The Minister paid attention to the questions which cause most complaints: quality of service, violation of rights, inattentive attitude toward veterans, bureaucratism and unprofessionalism. All these problems are accumulated at the established Social Contact Center at the Ministry of Labour. L. Denisova named the regions from where the bigger amount of complaints from veterans comes: Volyn, Lviv, Summy and Ternopil regions and Kyiv.
