Local self-government: vectors of reformation under the conditions of democratization of Ukrainian civil society

Local self-government is one of major pre-conditions of democratic development of Ukrainian civil society, the factor of efficiency of self-identification and self-consciousness of commonness of interests and necessities of free territorial societies.

Formation and subsequent development of local self-government needs both the implementation of norms and principles and the introduction of principles of decentralization, deconcentration of state authority and principle of subsidiarity. Certainly, they are interconnected and interdependent, they contribute to mutual realization and appear to be organizational and legal foundation of modern model of local self-government, where the providing of individual and collective rights and freedoms at municipal level is the priority.
