The fourth session of the Verkhovna Rada of the fifth convocation began its work on September, 4

269 national deputies were registered in the session hall. They adopted the changes to the Law of Ukraine “About status of national deputies”, by which they abolished the privileges foreseen by this law, - norms about the grant to the deputy of the annual paid vacation with payment of material help on recovery, providing of the dwelling apartments, and also privileges which concern the flights in a business-class. And the law also abolished free travel by all types of transport.

In addition the deputies voted for the bill presented by the socialist Ivan Bokym “About amending the Constitution concerning the guarantee of immunity of particular officials”. The abolition of immunity of the President, national deputies and judges is foreseen by it. Deputies plan to get the conclusion of the Constitutional Court, where they have sent the corresponding presentation.

The decree about the calendar plan of work of the parliament was accepted at the meeting. Plenary meetings for the decision of urgent social, economic and political questions, in particular, for the presentation of legislation about the State Budget for 2008 are foreseen to be conducted till September, 30.
