To the space future together with the international society

From the beginning of the space era, Ukraine has become the acknowledged leader in the industry of scientific researches, development of space technologies, creation of military rocket equipment, space transmitters and vehicles. After the fall of the Soviet Union, the situation changed radically: large defense orders disappeared, the budgetary financing reduced, destruction of adjusted co-operation connections began.
The National Space Agency of Ukraine (NSAU) was created in February, 1992, and began to develop the strategy of the country space activity management. The main problem, while selecting a new strategy, was in the search of acceptable compromise between the presence of large potential of the industry and the modest necessities and possibilities of the state.
After the suggestions to the first Space Program of Ukraine were presented, it turned out that only 3 percent were international projects.
