Capital City as an Object of Administration: Comparative Legal Aspects

The capital city is determined to play a leading role in all spheres of public life and, compared to other cities, to have many peculiarities of its legal status. Because of its special legal status, the capital city is proved to belong to the complex administration objects that, in particular, may be determined through distinctive legislative acts being in force in the capital or through its separation as a certain administrative-territorial unit. Based on the analysis of constitutional acts of the European states, it is concluded that there is no integrated approach to the regulation of status of the capital city in different countries.
