Yuriy MUSHKETYK: “I’m not vauntful…”

Hero of Ukraine Yuriy Mushketyk belongs to the small cohort of the most popular modern prose writers of the older generation. Every his considerable work is a strong alloy of the unchained imagination and great research work. Already the first big in size historical novel “Semen Paliy” (1954), which he wrote when he was a student, contained the circulation of number of unknown facts about the life of colonel from Fastiv (Bila Tserkva) and leader of Cossack-insurgency motion at the end of the XVII – beginning of the XVIII centuries. His second novel with the eloquent title “Haydamak” (1957) was very popular as well.
