Educational reform as a desperate move

During spirited discussion the participants of the parliamentary hearings on “Accessibility and quality of secondary education: the state and ways of improving” tried to assess whether the way the educational sector is improved is the right one.

Ukrainian parliament always paid serious attention to public policy in education. Thus the first hearings on this issue took place in 1995, according to the speech of Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada Volodymyr Rybak. According to their results, a new Law “On Education”, laws “On vocational education”, “On General Secondary Education” and other laws of direct action that determine public policy of all parts of education were developed and adopted.
