Academic agricultural science: figures and events

By the irony of fate, this year, when Ukrainian scientists together with foreign colleagues celebrate the whole chain of significant dates, became perhaps the most difficult for domestic science in a new century because of reduction of financing and further efforts of unconsidered reorganizations. Jubilee measures could be not only a tribute to the memory of prominent scientists of past, but also an opportunity to represent contemporary scientific acquisitions in a country and beyond its boundaries. But the present year UNESCO proclaimed as the Year of Vernadsky and all world scientific community celebrate 150th birth anniversary of this genius scientist, founder and the first president of the Ukrainian Academy of Sciences.
