More competition - less pressure

Known experts in the field of international competitive law, representatives of the foreign antimonopoly agencies and international organizations met in Kyiv on January, 28-29, during the international seminar and press conference on “Development Strategy of competitive law in Ukraine and review of the international experience”.

As noted at the seminar the chairman of the Antimonopoly Committee of Ukraine (AMC) Vasyl Tsushko, the department led by him during many years, effectively cooperates with international organizations, namely with the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD) and the Commission of the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) on competition. In 2011 Ukraine gained the observer status in the Commission of the OECD Commission. It will have this status over two years.

Rafael Kuzmin outlined priority areas of the committee’s activity in 2013. It went about the joint work with the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development

(UNCTAD) on preparation of the review of competitive policy and law in Ukraine, the presentation of which will take place in July. And also about the rework and submission for consideration to the Cabinet of Ministers of the National Program of competition development and the bill draft regarding its confirmation.
