Comparative and legal analysis of the proportional electoral systems of the country–members of the European Union

In the country-members of the European Union the elections are conducted at the national and European levels (to the European Parliament). Elections to the state representative organs in every country are regulated by the electoral legislation [9]. The proper electoral procedures, which determine this or that type of the electoral system, are stated in it. Without regard to that three basic types of the electoral systems are used in the countries of the EU, after all the proportional one prevails: the advantage is given in 18 from 27 countries.
