Science in different images

Science is a socially significant sphere of the human activity, the function of which foresees making and application of the theoretically systematized knowledge about the reality. Its object is cognition of natural and social laws; it provides the proper influence on the nature and receives useful results for the society. However, so far there is no clear and synonymous definition of science. While designing the processes of social development, in particular, an important role is played by preliminary and clearly defined scientific definitions. The researchers have an urgent task – to define the essence of category concept of science through the prism of general, social-cultural or cultural conceptual approaches.
