“I am confident that Ukraine's presidency in the Committee of Ministers of the Council of Europe will be successful and the Parliamentary Assembly will work closely with it” - said PACE President Mevlut Cavusoglu before the meeting of the Standing Committee of the Council of Europe in Kyiv.
Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Volodymyr Lytvyn referring to members of national delegations stressed that Ukraine has successfully cooperated and will cooperate with the Council of Europe. In domestic policy our state is currently focused on implementing radical reforms in all spheres of public life. “We attach great importance to our work in PACE and will work in the same direction in future”- said the Head of the Parliament, noting the high level of interaction between Ukraine and the Council of Europe.
According to Volodymyr Lytvyn Ukraine seeks to “find ways to deepen interparliamentary cooperation and intergovernmental sectors of the Council of Europe” because “such synergy will sharply raise the credibility of this organization.”
