Platon Kostyuk in History and in Science

In May will be one year anniversary when the Hero of Ukraine, a distinguished scientist and public figure Platon Kostyuk left this world. All his life was connected with the Institute of Physiology of O.O. Bohomolets of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, and his top political activity was the presidency of the Verkhovna Rada of the Ukrainian SSR.

“This man created the history and science”. Such a message was left in a social network by one of the employees of the Institute of Physiology when he got to know that Platon Kostyuk died. With pain in his heart and sorrow in his soul a Nobel prize-winner Erwin Neyer wrote these words: “Platon was an outstanding scientist. His death ends a unique page in the development of Physiology”.
