... Because they experienced hell on earth

The Head of Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Volodymyr Lytvyn was one of the first spectators of premiere showing of the documentary film “Women of Chernobyl”, directed by Volodymyr Burnos. Metropolitan event timed to 8 March and to the coming 25 th anniversary of the disaster, was visited by the famous politicians, artists, community and, of course, people that were directly involved in the liquidation of consequences of Chernobyl disaster.

The idea of the film belongs to Valentyna Shevchenko, Chairman of Presidium of Verkhovna Rada of URSR (1985-1990). The picture was filmed with the assistance of the Business Women Congress. And the main characters in it are representatives of a weak sex, who shared with the men the burden of the tragedy: a mothers, wife, brides, sisters, liquidators, medical workers, peasants, who took to their families migrants displaced from the Zone. The full of pain and unspeakable compassion permeated to the best representatives of the nation who gave their lives, the film did not leave anyone indifferent.
