Scientific Week of “Pragmatic Partnership”: Theoretical Ground for Collaboration is Outlined

“It is necessary to mark the fundamental difference of previous stage of collaboration of our state with NATO: earlier much attention was paid to the question of formalization of relations - acquisition of official membership in the alliance instead of real integration of actions for the sake of creation of safe world; now the question is about the real association of efforts in the process of providing of regional and global safety”, – acting head of the National University of Defense of Ukraine, lieutenant-general Vasyl Telelym marked at the officially opening of the ХІ International Week of NATO which took place from February, 7 till February, 11 in accordance with the Implementation Program of Working Plan of the Military Committee Ukraine–NATO 2011–2012. According to his words the collaboration of Ukraine and NATO will become wider and deeper. Decree of the President “On providing of continuation of structural partnership of Ukraine with the North Atlantic Treaty Organization” dated November, 18, 2010” which, in particular, determines state structures responsible for the assistance to the concerted implementation by the central organs of executive power and other state institutions of tasks in relation to the continuation of structural partnership of Ukraine with the North Atlantic Treaty Organization “eloquently testifies it”. Accordingly, this year basic task of the International Week of NATO was the discussion of prospects of development of collaboration between Ukraine and the alliance.
