The battle of Berestechko is one of the greatest tragedies of liberation actions of the Ukrainian people. Cossack and Polish troops met each other near the unknown for the world city - Berestechko. That Berestechko turned out to be almost the center of the black pages of Ukrainian history.

The formation of state independence of Ukraine contemporized with the radical transformation of a political system. The dramatic effect is peculiar to each of these processes and to their tie-up especially. The new political system had to provide democratic transformations and economic reforms. A dominant role was destined for the figure of the President.
