And the Glory of those Days will not Fall Silent...

Lately some scientists-historian and responsible officials of the Central record office of public associations of Ukraine have impeached the fixed in the archived documents and editions of historical and memorial literature information about the amount of participants of clandestine-partisan motion in Ukraine in the period of Great Patriotic war (1941–1945) and authenticity of consequences of the losses inflicted by them to the fascist invaders, their mates and servants.

In this connection Commission in the matters of former partisans of the Great Patriotic War 1941–1945 at the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine made decision to authorize the group of senior officials to familiarize once again with the proper archived materials, reports of former partisan unions and detachments, historical literature.

During work the members of commission thoroughly studied in the Central Record Office of Public Associations of Ukraine the comprehensively grounded message of the Institute of history of party at the CC of the Communist Party of Ukraine about the results of clandestine -partisan motion in Ukraine in 1941–1945 (CROPA of Ukraine. F. № 39. Op. №  9. Case. 2. P. 65–85). It is also worth mentioning that in the development and preparation of the indicated message the Commission in the matters of former partisans at the Presidium of Supreme Soviet of the Ukrainian SSR took part as well.

We consider that to doubt the elaborated consequences of clandestine - partisan activity means to offend voluntary participants of the armed fight against fascist invaders and ignore that the grandeur of clandestine - partisan fight is acknowledged by the state organs of the country, scientists-historian and even former enemies.

The memorandum of the group of members of the commission on these questions was considered at the meeting of the Commission in matters of former partisans, to take part in which the director of the Central Record Office of Public Associations of Ukraine was invited. The commission made decision which confirmed suggestion of the working group and noted that there are no grounds for doubts in relation to the amount of participants of clandestine motion in Ukraine during the Great Patriotic War of 1941–1945. Expression of doubts, twisting of historical facts is just the desire to decrease the merits of partisans and clandestine workers in the Victory over fascist invaders.
