The first dish: Ethnographic and cultural research

Is borsch known for other nations? There are, of course, a lot of dishes which consist of different garden vegetable in the cuisines of different tribes in all continents. But such combination of vegetable components and the methods of their cooking can be hardly found even in the richest and exquisite first dishes. In the opinion of some gastrologists, the most similar to borsch first dish is a “Russian cabbage soup”. At least most managers of the Russian explanatory dictionaries explain a word “borsch” as a variety of a “cabbage soup” For Ukrainians it sounds a bit abusively: different loaves are baked in one bake oven.
