Yaroslav FEDORCHUK: “The real intellectual is capable on self-sacrifice”

Yaroslav FEDORCHUK is hard and uncompromising in his persuasions. For him his native land is a shrine, being Ukrainian is a deep essence of the soul. Not to talk about his love to the people, but to work hard for the sake of his development and European welfare is a life credo of a person who was brought up in the village family with many children and defended a candidate's dissertation, and wrote over 60 scientific labors. The very young prisoner of Hitler Germany knows what freedom is, and all the time, especially now, fights for it. Being originally from Volyn, year upon year he investigates the history of not simple Ukrainian-Polish mutual relationships.
The ability to defend the truth and not to lose own vision of the past and present has been testified by everyday research work of Yaroslav Fedorchuk, and his detailed final research “Tragedy of Ukrainian and Polish opposition in Volyn in 1938–1944” (Lutsk: Tverdynya, 2012) and fiction documentary dilogy “Volynhabitant” .
