Direct descendent of genius

On the 28th of March a grandson of Ivan Franko is 80 years old!

Genius poet Ivan Franko was the exemplary father of his daughter Anna and three sons – Andriy, Petro and Taras. The eldest son died because of a heart attack very early. Petro was a shooter at Sich and one of the first Ukrainian pilots. Taras, father of Roland and daughters Zinoviya and Daryna, was also at war and, as a shooter from Sich, got to the Russian captivity. After he had been liberated from the Kharkiv prison, which is located on the famous Kholodna Mountain, he became a professor of Latin and Ancient Greek languages, studied classic literature; in particular, he knew an epos “Song about Roland” well. Exactly this name of the legendary knight is widespread in the Western countries, and Taras borrowed it for his son.
He was born in the house where genius Ivan Franko lived, created and passed into oblivion. When Roland was baptized, a boy was given another name, a Greek but more usual one - Oleksandr, however, later it was not written to his passport.
