Leonid Rudkin: “You have to have more soul inside and in the same time it has to remain clean.”

How hard is to finish your professional way on the customs in the conditions, when the society can’t recover from the moral madness

-         You have to have more soul inside and in the same time it has to remain clean, in spite of everything, - stated in the beginning of our discussion the head of the Sevastopol customs Leonid Rudkin.

In front of his worktable there is a portrait on the wall – a picture of an idol – Pavel Vereshchagin, a character from the movie “The white desert sun”. preserving the oldest traditions of morality, Leonid Mykolayovych maintains in the team the atmosphere of a real devotion to the work and profession. And it is not only words – it is a great hard everyday work, that took 38 years of his life. I guess, I will not mistake if I say, that this man is the only head of the customs on the whole postsoviet space, who survived in the storms of reforms and total suspicion. And he keeps this mark in his service record for 30 years.
