The most widespread violence is family one

Creation of legislative base in the field of prevention of violence in family testifies the recognition of the problem by the state. Discussion of the legislation “About bringing of changes to some legislative acts of Ukraine (improving of legislation of Ukraine concerning warning of violence in family)”, initiated by the Committee of the VR on the questions of the legislative providing of law-enforcement activity together with the Program of assistance to parliament and the International womanish remedial center “La Strada – Ukraine”, gathered a lot of specialists. This non-material question worries people, as, in fact, according to statistics it touches many in our society. In accordance with the data of the Ministry of internal affairs, there are 85 thousand 178 people on the whole, 63 thousand 624 among them – from 2006 year, on the register for using violence in family. Some articles of law in force need the changes, in particular: abolition of fine as sanction to the aggressor – as the punishment burdens a family, instead of an offender; the extraction of the article 11 “Official warning about impermissibility of provocative behaivour in family”; introduction of administrative arrest, which foresees the extraction of an aggressor from family, instead of a victim; introduction of the forced treatment from alcoholism concerning people who use violence in a state of alcoholic intoxication.
