Complex biochemical systems in the light of quantum chemistry

This year Nobel Prize in Chemistry was received by Martin Karplus (University of Strasbourg, Strasbourg, France, Harvard University, Cambridge, USA, Cambridge University, and Cambridge, UK), Michael Lovitt (Stanford University, Palo Alto, USA) and Arie Vorshel (University of South Carolina, the city of Clemson, USA, U.S. citizenship, Israel). Three professors were awarded “for a long series of works on the development of large scale models of complex chemical system”, that is in fact, a physical method of obtaining quantitative characteristics of chemical and biochemical systems. This work continued characteristic of modern science that tends to penetrate methods of mathematics and theoretical physics in chemistry and biology.
