After sensation. Interview with the World Chess Champion Anna USHENINA

Over the entire 85-year history of the chess cup series among women the most unexpected was the result of the World Cup which was held at the end of the last year in Khanty-Mansiysk. The sensational victory was won by Anna Ushenina from Kharkov, whose name was not included to any list of favorites of the competition, to any forecast of the experts regarding the main contenders for the crown. She was called the fourth number consisting of the Ukrainian championship participants (who, besides, had never reached the final), and in the global rating list she was on the 38th place.
The first Ukrainian chess queen was also honored at home, and abroad. In Moscow Mikhail Gorbachev awarded her with the prestigious reward “Kaisa” based by the charitable foundation “Our heritage” and the Moscow Chess Federation in the nomination “The best foreign chess player of the year”. In Kyiv the head of the state gave Anna Ushenina the Order of Princess Olga. In Kharkov countrymen of the champion, as it turned out to editors, nominated her for the honorable public award - the Order “Patriot of the Motherland”.
The world champion international grandmaster Anna USHENINA found time in her busy schedule to talk with the reporter of “Viche”.
