Before the beginning of the next deputy tournament “Parliamentary Party” that came around fourteenth time in the Verkhovna Rada, the National Anthem of Ukraine sounded like during the competitions of the highest level. This solemn prelude to the chess battles was due to the fact that at the scheduled time of the tournament recently unlocked session of the Parliament started to work. The beginning of the game was delayed a little, so the deputies, making a compromise in the debating chamber, were able to participate in this uncompromising, but constructive and honest fight.

The chess tournament established in the mid of nineties of the last century by the Deputies Association is traditionally held according to the Swiss system in 9 rounds, including personal and team classifications. An individual result is fixed by the number of gained points of the player, and in case of necessity with the help of the developed system of the additional indicators, and team places are determined by the amount of the best indicators of the representatives of the different factions and convocations. This time the number of teams increased because of adding new political forces in the parliament and selected team of the seventh convocation.
