Free trade zone between Ukraine and the countries of the European Association: legal analysis

The processes of international cooperation due to the application of many facilities acquire accordingly different legal forms. Mostly the mutually beneficial collaboration between the states and international organizations is based on economic integration which, as a rule, starts with the foundation of the free trade zone (FTZ). Free trade zones need less co-ordination of external economic policy, keep independence of the states in the formation of the customs policy in relation to the third countries, enable to avoid the question of membership within the limits of the customs unions, common markets, economic unions, and develop the simple forms of international integration. Besides, they are concentrated on the questions of access to the strategic markets that is why the geographical closeness of partners is not often necessary, unlike more difficult forms of international integration which basically foresee the presence of the joint boundaries. At the same time FTZ is the intermediate stage of international economic integration, a mechanism of passing to more difficult and more developed forms of economic co-operation of the countries [2, p. 46].
