Militia or Police? Reforming of the Ministry of Internal Affairs begins with renaming

No wonder they say: as in Moscow call, so in Kiev respond. Last year the State Duma of the Russian Federation adopted a new law on police. And this year in July a similar draft (№ 10688) has been registered in the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine.

The initiators of creating the police are representatives of the Party of Regions - Vasyl Hrytsak and Valery Konovalyuk.

According to the requirements of draft №10688 the law enforcement officials, who are willing to go to the police service, “are subjected to out of order attestation regarding the procedure and terms stated by the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine”.

For this purpose there should be created the Police Department, the structure of which should include corresponding services such as: criminal police, civil security police, transport police, pre-trial investigation, state security, national security, supporting service, forensic service, and also Ukrainian bureau of Interpol.
