Strong scientific school, permanent development, responsibility and morality multiplied by self-weighted conservatism, persistent and tense work of the collective are the basis for success, authority and acknowledgement of our higher educational esta

The fact that Kharkiv has a status of a legal capital of Ukraine appeared due to the National Yaroslav Mudryi Law Academy of Ukraine. It is also the center of legal education in Ukraine. How have they managed to hold the leadership positions for many years without regard to the high level of competition in the sector of legal education? Is the number of lawyers is over the odds in Ukraine? Our conversation with Rector Vasyl TATSIY, who has been the head of the higher educational establishment for quarter-century, is about the international programs and new specialties of the Academy, and many other things. However, the Rector, whose list of the honoured ranks and titles can be hardly put in a magazine page spread (see “Viche”# 9 dated 2009), remarkably combines unique qualities of a scientist, administrator and organizer, and considers that everything what the university can be proud of is the common merit of the collective, and all those who work today and everyone who used to work there in the different years of its existence.

— And after all, the 25-th anniversary somehow obliges to sum up the intermediate results.

I think it’s too early to sum up the results. You know, I am brought up on the remarkable traditions of our educational establishment. Strong scientific school, permanent development, responsibility and morality multiplied by self-weighted conservatism, persistent and tense work of the collective are the basis for success, authority and acknowledgement of our higher educational establishment.
