Ombudsman Nina KARPACHOVA: “Fighting poverty is a defining issue of the National Security of Ukraine”

- 2011 has become the year of global social turmoil that swept from North Africa to Europe and the United States. More than ever the economic crisis exacerbated the problem of world polarization between the rich and the poor - said Ombudsman during the presentation to the Parliament of the Annual Report of the Commissioner of the Supreme Council for Human Rights on the basis of 2011. She pointed out that last year was marked by the struggle for human dignity and justice, for the right to participate in decision-making process. According to Nina Karpachova, a special role in “global awakening” was played by modern information resources - Facebook, YouTube and Twitter.
