Victory without losers

Oleksandr Moroz was chosen as the Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada on July, 6

Think seven times and... keep silence. It is the rule of diplomacy. It looks as if it is a high time for it to become the rule of a national policy. So let’s ask the facts to speak.

At 11:00 437 national deputies of Ukraine were registered in a session hall. Victor Yanukovych announced about the deblocking of work of the Verkhovna Rada by the Regions Party on terms of partial satisfaction of categorical requirements of “regions”.

The leader of BYT appraised this event as a historical. It’s for the first time the ruling coalition and the opposition occupy a fitting place in the political system. The only thing left is to reach a corresponding decision. But with the evening meeting approaching more doubts concerning the possibility of realization of morning projects appeared.

16:00 – the evening meeting. 424 elected representatives of people were registered. Oleksandr Peklushenko, the national deputy from the Regions Party suggests to continue the meeting till the election of the Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada. The candidatures of Petro Poroshenko, Mykola Azarov and Oleksandr Moroz were proposed.

Petro Poroshenko claimed that the nomination of the socialist leader was the breach of coalition agreements. Consequently he withdrew his candidature. He suggested Oleksandr Moroz to do the same.

Mykola Azarov urged to support exactly him, because only the candidate from the Regions Party could provide a stable work of a legislative body, and the representatives of the registered coalition could only cause disorder.

Oleksandr Moroz marked: the coalition is created for work, and there will be no work if Petro Poroshenko takes up a post of the Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada, consequently he does not withdraw his candidature.

The present elections of the Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada as well as the previous did not do without charge of betrayal (Yosyp Vins’kyi), falsifications (Serhiy Shevchuk) and without the prospects of judicial appeal. Thus we have a result: 238 national deputies took part in the secret vote. Oleksandr Moroz got 238 ballot-papers. But Mykola Azarov felt himself a winner too.

The first statements made by Oleksandr Moroz, the Chairman of the Vrkhovna Rada are the appeal to reconciliation: “We must remove the tension that is artificially created in order to avoid the split of Ukraine. I am convinced we will crack this problem, certainly we’ll do that. And I’m firmly convinced that those who consider themselves the winners today and those who consider themselves the losers will collaborate with each other. There can’t be winners and losers in the parliament. There can be opponents and rivals with different approaches and different vision of development of Ukraine in the parliament, but if we play according to the principle “one wins, another loses”, then the whole state will lose, Ukraine will lose. It cannot be allowed”. These words are worth of being agreed with.

If one makes the analysis of the first comments about the created coalition (we give them further), he will make sure: they created it and then discounted. The system did not pass the tests because of a human element. It seems to be ruined. And, maybe, at the proper time. Because even the creation of a political benefit can not exist without faith.
