Letters from the War Were Received after 70 Years

During the work of the memorial complex “The National Museum of the Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945”, which solemn opening was in May 9, 1981, it had over 25 million visitors from 200 countries. There are about 350 000 exhibits here so it gives a possibility of frequent updating the main exhibition, and creating other numerous theme exhibitions. A long time ago the museum outgrew its assigned role – to be the custodian of the memories about the most terrible war in the history, and has turned to a considerable research institution. So, it’s not a surprise that in the course of many years the supervisory board of the Memorial Center has been headed by the vice-president of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, academician, and now the Head of the Verkhovna Rada Volodymyr Lytvyn.
