Valeriy BEVZ: “We have a Sufficient Legal Basis for Combating Corruption”

The Chairman of the Committee of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine on combating the organized crime and corruption Valeriy BEVZ told the “Viche” magazine in details about the features of a new anti-corruption law

- How will the public be informed about measures of preventing and combating corruption?

- In particular, annually, no later than on 15 April, the specially authorized body on anti-corruption policy will prepare and publish the report on the results achieved in preventing and combating corruption. The document will contain statistics on the performance of specially authorized entities in combating corruption, the summarized results of anti-corruption expertise of legislative bills, and the results of sociological surveys on corruption expansion conducted by public and private research institutions, information about the implementation of anti-corruption strategy established by the President of Ukraine, etc.

- Today the national law envisages the liability for a physical person only. Unfortunately, it is a gap in our legislation. As the highest legislative body of state, we will strive to improve this regulation.
