In general, the society perceives law as a utilitarian thing.

As a certain instrument which can be used in a conflict situation. Sometimes – as an instrument which (for certain reasons) is worth avoiding. But law means also the century of scientific tradition. And in V. M. Koretskyi Institute of State and Law of the NAS of Ukraine the law is foremost examined as the subject of scientific research.
