The political instability – another speed bump on the way to the EU

On the press-conference in the end of the visit, Volodymy Lytvyn stated, that all the agreements between the EU and Ukraine should be postponed at least until the president’s elections in 2010. And this is under the condition if the politicians here will stop fighting with each other. But, how stated the head of the Verkhovna Rada, “to save peace between the main political players of Ukraine and make their positions more consolidate in the modern conditions is quite impossible. Slogans like “let’s make peace” are just not working under such conditions. Yes, it is a pessimistic view, but it’s totally proved.

Answering the question of the journalists about the Europeans’ opinion about involving the ticks in the EU countries and the stabilization of the budget, Volodymyr Lytvyn said that these kinds of questions are only under the Cabinet Council’s jurisdiction. In the same time he showed the readiness of the parliament to provide the government with a required support in its actions.
